Job Description

Our customer is a mineral processing plant in Thomaston, Maine and they are looking for a hard-working professional with excellent communication skills, the ability to undertake a variety of tasks and work diligently under pressure. This person must be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.
This a full time, temp to hire position.Shift: Monday through Friday, 6am-4pm until 11/10 then the shift will return to Monday through Friday from 6am-2pmPay: $18/hour Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Operate Forklifts to move, load, unload products 
  • Perform daily equipment inspections.
  • Keep good record keeping on all product moved.
  • Collect retain samples and ensure QC data is properly written. 
  • Support QC to ensure a variety of tests are completed
  • Cross train with QC Technician and fill-in as needed.
  • Conduct workplace inspections focusing on any potential safety hazards. 
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are met in your assigned area. Pushing a broom is required.
  • Maintain high level communication with Production Supervisor and Furnace Operator to ensure efficiency is met on all plant goals.
 Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Forklift experience preferred or the ability to learn.
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Computer skills- experience with excel a Plus.
  • Team player with good attitude.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal).
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment (multi-tasking skills a must).
  • Bending to lift items from the floor and racks required.
  • Lifting items between 25 and 50 pounds required.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time required.
  • Shift work with overtime is required.
 Working Conditions: 
  • Manufacturing facility, warehouse
  • Will be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
