Position Summary: As a Tire Technician, you will be responsible for performing tire-related services on commercial vehicles, ensuring the highest level of quality, safety, and efficiency. Your primary tasks will include mounting, dismounting, balancing, repairing, and maintaining tires for a variety of commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses, and trailers. You will work closely with our service team and follow established protocols to meet customer needs and ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: 1. Tire Installation and Repair:
- Perform tire mounting and dismounting activities using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Conduct tire balancing to ensure proper weight distribution.
- Diagnose and repair tire-related issues, including punctures, tread damage, and sidewall damage.
- Utilize industry-standard procedures to perform tire repairs and ensure safe vehicle operation.
- Maintain accurate records of tire services performed.
- Perform wheel alignment procedures using computerized alignment equipment.
- Conduct visual inspections of tires, identifying wear patterns, bulges, and other abnormalities.
- Provide recommendations for tire replacement or additional services based on inspection results.
- Maintain knowledge of manufacturer specifications and industry standards for wheel alignment.
- Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner, addressing their tire-related concerns.
- Provide accurate estimates for tire services, explaining the scope of work and associated costs.
- Offer tire recommendations based on customer needs, vehicle specifications, and industry guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with the service team to coordinate workflow and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Comply with industry regulations, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service area and equipment.
- Continuously update knowledge of industry trends, new products, and technological advancements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Commercial Tire Technician or a similar role is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of tire installation, repair, and maintenance techniques preferred.
- Familiarity with wheel alignment procedures and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform tire-related tasks.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.
- Exceptional customer service skills and effective communication abilities.
- Valid driver' s license with a clean driving record in order to be considered for a direct, temp to hire position.
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification is a plus but not required.
