Job Description
Experienced Rough Carpenter (Bangor/Ellsworth & Surrounding Areas)We’re looking for an Experienced Rough Carpenter who knows their way around a job site, appreciates good craftsmanship, and doesn’t mind a little fresh air (okay… sometimes a lot). If you take pride in solid, reliable work and enjoy building things that last, you might be exactly who we’re looking for.Duties and Responsibilities
- Install windows and interior/exterior doors with proper flashing, sealing, and weatherproofing — keeping homes protected and looking sharp.
- Build and repair decks, railings, stairs, and other exterior structures with craftsmanship you’ll want to brag about later.
- Tackle demolition safely and efficiently when projects call for a fresh start.
- Jump into remodeling projects, including structural changes and retrofitting existing spaces.
- Use hand and power tools confidently — bonus points if you can name them all without thinking.
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials with precision, because even an eighth of an inch matters more than most people think.
- Keep the job site clean, organized, and safe for everyone (no one likes hunting for the tape measure).
- Follow safety standards and building codes — because doing it right is non‑negotiable.
- Work closely with team members and other trades to keep projects running smoothly and on schedule.
- 3+ years of experience in rough carpentry.
- Solid understanding of framing techniques and modern construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project plans without squinting too hard.
- Proficiency with common carpentry tools and equipment.
- Physical stamina — ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in just about any weather Maine throws at you.
- Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work solo or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation (no hoping your buddy can give you a ride every day).
- Experience with residential remodels and custom home builds.
- OSHA certification training.
- Tool pouch or belt
- Hammer
- Flat bar
- Speed square
- Utility knife
