Bethel Night Clean-Up BETHEL NIGHT CLEAN-UP PERSON(Must Be 18 Years of Age) DEPARTMENT:   Sawmill   SUPERVISOR:   Senior on site Supervisor Nights/Weekends   SUPERVISES:    N/ASTATUS; Non-ExemptPOSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and a safe/clean work environment throughout the entire operation.                FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Clean throughout the mill, from outside mill offices, yard, sawmill, and planer mill.
  2. Sweep, clean, shovel, and pick up material off the operation floor and in/around equipment;
  3. Place gathered material into the proper waste stream;
  4. Perform minor maintenance duties such as:  changing drive belts or greasing machinery;
  5. Know and use correct LOTO (lock out/tag out) procedures;
  6. Empty trash cans daily.
  7. Fill in as watchman as required.
  8. Wear all required personal protective equipment;
  9. Know and understand Hancock Lumber’s Safety and Mission Statements;
  10. Other duties may be assigned.
 DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Minimum - High School Diploma or GEDPreferred -  Experience working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  1. Knowledge of lumber industry;
  2. Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as: safety rules, 
operating instructions, and maintenance manuals;
  1. Ability to remain focused;
  2. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment or alone as shift dictates.
 REPETITIVE PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  (Sawmill Category)
  1. Lift 60# from floor to waist, lift 40# from waist to shoulder;
  2. Carry 60# over a distance exceeding 12 feet;
  3. Push 100# in a wheeled cart;
  4. Stand on a cement floor level repeatedly;
  5. Bend, stoop, or squat to floor level repeatedly;
  6. Reach over head to grasp materials;
  7. Ability to walk up and down stairs to access machinery.
  ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to warm heated buildings, to outside temperatures and climate conditions.  Cement floors inside. Frequency:   Monday – Friday 4:00pm – 12:30am                    ½ hour lunch break unpaid                    15 minute break paid.  LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION:  Forklift desired  9/18/2023                    Applicant’s Signature:_________________________________                Print Name:_________________________________________
