Job Title: Planner – Inventory Manager Location: Lewiston/Auburn Area Job Type: Full-Time Department: [Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing] Reports To: [Planning Manager, Director of Operations] Salary Range: $61,000 – $99,000 per year (commensurate with experience)Job Summary:We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Planner to support our manufacturing and supply chain operations. As a company that manufactures and markets high-technology components, we rely on precise planning to ensure efficient production, inventory control, and timely delivery to customers worldwide. The Planner will play a key role in coordinating materials, production schedules, inventory counts, and demand forecasts to meet both operational and market needs.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain production and material plans aligned with customer demand, inventory targets, and manufacturing capabilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and sales—to align planning efforts with business objectives
Monitor inventory levels of high-tech components and raw materials to prevent shortages or overstocking
Manage and reconcile inventory counts, ensuring accuracy between physical stock and system records; investigate and resolve discrepancies
Analyze sales forecasts and historical order trends to anticipate demand and adjust planning strategies
Ensure ERP/MRP systems are maintained with accurate and up-to-date data
Communicate scheduling changes and potential disruptions, and propose contingency plans as needed
Support new product introductions and engineering changes through integration into production planning
Generate reports and KPIs related to production capacity, on-time delivery, forecast accuracy, and inventory accuracy
Qualifications:
Two years of college education preferred, ideally in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field with prior design/drafting, production planning or assembly experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment. (or equivalent relevant experience)
2–5+ years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in high-tech or precision component industries
Excellent computer and math skills required, read and interpret blueprints with adequate clarity and detail for production use
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) is preferred but not required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is a must
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
Prior design/drafting, production planning or assembly experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Working Conditions:
Office-based with regular collaboration with production and engineering teams.
Occasional travel to suppliers or manufacturing sites may be required
