Job Description
Our customer in Augusta, Maine is looking for Experienced Mechanics! This is a full time, temp to hire assignment. The shift is Monday through Friday from 7am-3:30pm and the hourly rate is $24/hour.This position consists of skilled work in all phases of vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. Skilled mechanical repairs, welding and cutting, maintenance and diagnostic work. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS;
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED;
High School education or equivalent and three (3) years work experience in automotive maintenance or related field.

- Confirms parts provided are correct for the job assignment.
- Completes a work order for each job assignment.
- Reads parts manuals to determine correct part(s) to be ordered.
- Performs skilled mechanical work In all areas of maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment such as welding, gas and diesel engine repairs and maintenance, small engine repairs and maintenance hydraulics, brakes, drivetrain and electrical.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED;
- Knowledge of a variety of light and heavy-duty equipment makes and models and related components.
- Knowledge of automotive and equipment mechanics to complete service, inspections and major repairs.
- Ability to show leadership skills in the absence of the supervisor, provide instructions and make decisions as needed which may involve contacting a supervisor for assistance or advice.
- Ability to understand and complete work orders for the vehicle or equipment being worked on.
- Ability to perform gas and diesel engine repairs and maintenance perform small. engine repairs and maintenance work on hydraulics brakes, drivetrain and electrical, etc.
- Ability to proficiently use cutting torches, weld air arc and plasma cut.
- Ability to identify common occupational hazards and utilize safe work practices in performance of job duties.
- Skill to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow workers and others, and communicate in a pleasant and responsible manner.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility in daily work duties to ensure efficient daily output.
