Metal Fabricator$18-$23/hrFull Time Temp-to-HireLewiston, ME Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Welder with proficiency in various welding processes, including GTAW, FCAW, GMAW, or SAW. The successful candidate should have a solid understanding of basic weld procedures and possess basic blueprint reading skills. The Welder will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and quality of welding operations.
Essential Functions:
  • Adhere to all safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment.
  • Organize and maintain the work area for safe, clean, and efficient operations.
  • Possess working knowledge of welding, fixturing, weld wire, and filler material applications for various steel alloys, stainless, and carbon.
  • Review schedules, prioritize daily work, and examine specifications and blueprints to determine equipment, material, and tool requirements.
  • Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials/parts and notify Lead/Supervisor.
  • Have sufficient visual acuity to operate machines and visually inspect produced parts.
  • Lift and move materials as required: up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required. Technical school graduate preferred.
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work well with external and internal customers.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and follow work instructions.
  • Proficient in basic mathematics: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; use basic handheld measuring tools.
  • Related experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
