Pediatric Medical AssistantLewiston, ME$20-$23/hrMon-Fri  Embark on a fulfilling career as a Pediatric Medical Assistant in a vibrant outpatient clinic. As an integral part of our healthcare team, you'll play a pivotal role in caring for children, providing essential support in examinations, and ensuring a nurturing environment for our young patients.
Essential Functions:
  • Perform specialized tests for pediatric patients, including vitals, eye exams, photoscreens, hearing screens, and urinalysis.
  • Prepare exam rooms before visits and maintain cleanliness afterward, ensuring a child-friendly environment.
  • Administer pediatric immunizations and therapeutic injections with compassion and care.
  • Communicate normal results to parents and caregivers, offering educational resources and support.
  • Verify prescriptions with pharmacies and maintain the sterilization of medical instruments to uphold safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED Current Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institutionKnowledge of Medical Terminology and basic Pharmacology Position requires sitting 40% of the time and walking 60% of the time and the ability to lift 35 lbs.  Corrected vison must be 20/20 and it is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods of time. Must be able to communicate in writing and orally with patients, families, and staff members. Requires manual dexterity (ability to make coordinated hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects; includes muscular, skeletal, and neurological functions to produce small, precise movements) sufficient to operate a keyboard. We are an equal-opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
